Managing a pension scheme can be challenging. As with any long-term journey, bumps in the road are inevitable. And in the rapidly evolving pensions landscape, these 'bumps' are becoming ever more frequent.
So, how can you ensure your scheme remains on track?
We like to think of managing a pension scheme like navigating a long car journey. To ensure you get from A to B as smoothly as possible, it's important to pull over every once in a while to refuel, check your tyre pressure and look at traffic updates.
We’ve designed Pension Pitstops to help you do just that.
What is Pension Pitstops? And how can it help you?
What is Pension Pitstops?
Pension Pitstops guides you through seven key areas essential to helping you reach your endgame (see the following page for details). Think of it as taking your scheme for an MOT – an opportunity to gain an independent, expert opinion on whether everything's working as it should be or if any areas need attention.
If we look under the bonnet of your scheme and find that everything's working as expected, you can carry on as you are with the reassurance of knowing you're on track. But if there's something that doesn't look quite right – like an inefficient asset allocation or too high an exposure to carbon emissions – you'll know where to focus your attention to get back on track as quickly as possible.
Taking the time to pull over, review where you are and identify any potential roadblocks ahead is the best way to ensure a smooth onward journey to your endgame.
What will you get?
We’ll deliver our independent assessment of your scheme via an MOT-like report, illustrating your scheme’s position against the seven pitstops through an intuitive traffic light system. This will help you identify which areas to focus on. We’ll also suggest specific calls to action to help you address any areas of concern.
If you think your scheme could benefit from an independent MOT, or you’ve already identified the issue and just need to know how to fix it, please email pensionpitstops@redington.co.uk – we'd love to discuss how we can help you reach your endgame.
